Come on ya'll. This little boy is carrying a case of diet pepsi. DIET PEPSI. Nobody would drink diet pepsi, unless they absolutely had to. This is pepsi i'm talking about.

Quality post My Brother...firstly acute observation, inferred social commentary, context (previous post), tasteful lightheartedness in the face of a serious situation, and of course - to be literal - the obvious proclamation that Pepsi ESPECIALLY Diet Pepsi doesn't cut it...

I applaud you

I've been discussing this all day at work (and on BlackAmericaWeb)- even in the midst of disaster the media never fails to take all opportunities both forthright and subliminal...they show white families hugged up together crying or whatever, but the major Black story (besides the man who let go of his wife- which could be considered a message as well) is looting and shooting. *shakes head*

although the picture has been removed, the woman in the front of the picture was Black.

Quoted from a news source.....
Chris Graythen wrote the caption for his photo of two hurricane survivors with bread and soda. "I believed in my opinion, that they did simply find them, and not 'looted' them in the definition of the word," he writes. "The people were swimming in chest deep water, and there were other people in the water, both white and black. I looked for the best picture. there were a million items floating in the water - we were right near a grocery store that had 5+ feet of water in it. it had no doors. the water was moving, and the stuff was floating away. These people were not ducking into a store and busting down windows to get electronics. They picked up bread and cokes that were floating in the water. They would have floated away anyhow.
