Word???

Well... it was only a matter of time. Here for your reading pleasure is Puff's first installment of "Things I Should've Blogged About This Month, but Didn't."

1. How, Lebron and Carmelo's herculean numbers notwithstanding, this is shaping up to be the most underwhelming NBA season in 15 years (the amount of time I've been following the NBA).

2. How insane it is that a team with quite possibly the least reliable quarterback in the NFL can be 9-2 and still have folks talking about a Superbowl run. And how getting shook by Tom Brady (Tom Brady) has to be Top 3 on Brian Urlacher's list of Moments I Wish I Could Get Back.

3. Should Dennis Green still be coaching?

4. How no one in their right mind would agree to be on the Madden '08 cover. Unless... the pay for the cover athlete equals or exceeds the amount they could've made in performance bonuses in the upcoming season.

5. How disappointing it was that the video for the first single off Jay-Z's comeback album was a beer commercial.

6. How "The Departed" was The Most gangsta-ass film any of you have seen in 10 years.

7. How I need to stop buying plane tickets. (I don't never go nowhere.)

8. How "When the Levees Broke" is probably the finest work of Spike Lee's career, and one of the 5 most important documentaries you'll see in your lifetime. ("An Inconvenient Truth" is also a thought provoker. And HBO's "Conspiracy", while not a documentary, is worth a couple hours of your time.)

9. How Lil Wayne is becoming the new Jay-Z. As in, he could be talking about something and I'm like, "Damn, I'm feelin Weezy." Or he could be talking about nothin and I'm like, "Damn, I'm feelin Weezy." (... I don't like to say the Baby.)

10. How the cost of health care in America is out of freakin' control. And why... Why are people without insurance charged more than insurance companies who pay for their customers' care? If you can think of something that makes less sense than that, do share.

11. How the Iraqi Prime Minister's timetable for the transfer of control from the U.S. to the Iraqi military boggles the mind. By June '07? Really? It just seemed to come out of nowhere. Even the President was like, Word???

12. Finally folks... I should have blogged about how the actor behind one of my all-time favorite TV characters turned out to be a raging bigot. If you haven't seen the video, tmz.com has it. But Seinfeld fans be warned: This may ruin the show for you. The only thing more bizarre was the apology. Talk about physically uncomfortable.

On This Day In History...

The Generalist entered the "First Post" at General Musings from Generalists on this day, November 27th, in the year 2004.

I'm saying, the recognition of this momentous occasion has to break the lull in posts at the very least right?

More to come? Who knows, I said that last year...

Speak On It

"Defeat is worse than death because you have to live with defeat."

- Bill Musselman, former NCAA-ABA-WBA-CBA-NBA Coach

P.S. The Generalist beat me to the Orenthal post and because he said what needed to be said, unlike O.J., I won't take another stab at it - literally or hypothetically, of course.

"If I Did It"

Is there any doubt that OJ Simpson, is the gutsiest man in America?

Seriously, if this guy were "mysteriously killed" in the next 6 months, I wouldn't be shocked.

I was telling some of my friends, that there is no doubt in my mind who the two most hated men are in America. OJ Simpson and Osama Bin Laden. I guess Orienthal was not satisfied with number 2.

You gotta admit, this guy obviously does not give a fuck.

Intelligence v. Genius

“A really smart person will come up with what you would come up with, only faster. A genius will come up with something that you would never come up with, no matter how long you worked on it.”

--Kevin Murphy, Economist, University of Chicago (and a certified genius with a MacArthur grant)
